This pistol red dot mount plate lets you add a micro red dot to a handgun without milling the slide. The plate installs in the pistol’s rear sight dovetail and gives you a flat, secure base for a compact reflex sight.

Why Use a Pistol Red Dot Mount Plate

Many pistols do not have an optic-ready slide. Cutting a slide is permanent and expensive, so a dovetail mounting plate is a simple, reversible way to try a red dot. For example, you can remove the factory rear sight, install the plate and mount your optic in one afternoon. Later, you can return the pistol to its original iron sights if you want.

Compatible Red Dot Sights

The plate is intended for micro red dot sights with the Docter/Noblex-style footprint, such as the Vortex Venom, Vortex Viper and Burris FastFire 3. Because footprints vary, please compare the screw spacing of your optic with the plate before installation.

Note: Allen wrench and red dot sight are not included.

How to Install a Pistol Red Dot Mount Plate

1. Unload the pistol, remove the magazine and double-check the chamber.
2. Remove the slide and take out the factory rear sight with a sight pusher tool.
3. Slide the dovetail clamp bar into the rear sight dovetail and center it.
4. Place the plate on top and tighten the screws evenly. A drop of removable thread locker is recommended.
5. Mount your red dot, then zero the pistol at the range.

If you are not comfortable removing sights yourself, a qualified gunsmith can complete the installation quickly.

FAQ

Do I need to cut my slide?
No. The plate uses the existing rear sight dovetail, so no slide machining is required.

Can I still use iron sights?
The plate replaces the rear sight, so you will aim through the red dot. Keep your original rear sight if you want to switch back later.
